Portsmouth boss gives early thoughts on chances of Bristol City and FC Midtjylland loanees being recalled in January

Pompey are yet to worry whether loan-pair Rasmus Nicolaisen or Cam Pring will be recalled by their parent clubs in January.

The pair have had to remain patient since arriving on season-long loans from FC Midtjylland and Bristol City respectively.

A hamstring injury to Jack Whatmough handed Nicolaisen his maiden League One start – and fifth Blues appearance since arriving in September – in the 3-1 win at Lincoln on Tuesday.

The duo both have January recall clauses installed in their loan deals.

That's something that could be activated by either Midtjylland or Bristol City if Nicolaisen or Pring continue to be on the fringes.

In the meantime, though, they're both set to start today’s FA Cup tie at Ipswich, with Whatmough and Brown still on the treatment table.

And Jackett feels there's still ample games left for Nicolaisen and Pring to become in before January.

The boss said: ‘It's a bit early. We're only just at the start of November and they are both in the side now.

‘We'll see how things go through November and December. There is plenty of time between now and January.

‘For them, they've done themselves no harm and both played very well at Lincoln.

‘Rasmus came on as a substitute against Charlton. Cameron arrived a bit earlier in the window than Rasmus so has had a few more games.

‘But both have had enough games to not be rusty and come into the side and do well.

‘Between now and January, there is plenty of time for them going to be plenty of games.’
