Portsmouth boss lauds side's potency as they take apart Championship Barnsley with display of attacking might
Kenny Jackett saluted Pompey’s attacking threat as they put Barnsley to the sword.
The Blues stuck four goals past the Championship side on the way to a 4-2 win which saw them progress to the FA Cup fifth round.
Jackett’s side had four different scorers as Ben Close, John Marquis, Ronan Curtis and Christian did the damage.
And their manager was delighted with his side’s goal threat as they marched on in the famous, old competition.
He said: ‘I felt there would be goals in the game with the way Barnsley set up.
‘They’ve given a lot of Championship defences problems. They’ve got some talented individuals.
‘We thought a clean sheet would be tough but also felt we’d create chances going the other way.
‘As a home side I wanted to take the game to the opposition, and I’m pleased to say it worked out.’
