There was fears for the Blues yesterday as players from FA Cup opponents Arsenal self-isolated after coming into contact with Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who’d contracted the virus.

But with the game going ahead as normal, preparations are continuing as planned - and have been supported by the Pompey players.

Jackett said: ‘I’ve spoke to all the players about it.

‘We asked their opinions on it, if there was any symptoms or if there’s a lead where they’ve been in contact with someone (who could have the virus).

‘We wanted to know anything at all, but, at present, the players are all okay.

‘It’s carry on really and wait and see.

‘It’s see what the instruction is from above while minimalising contact, but we’re carrying on and focussing on the game.

‘After that, it’s our board of directors, footballing authorities and the government who will decide in terms of the bigger picture and what’s right for the safety of people.’

With reports yesterday rife all English football would be moved behind closed doors, Jackett is keeping an open mind on the path forward and the best way to contain the virus.

He added: ‘We’d prefer to play in front of our fans.

‘But if it’s the right thing to keep it safe, then do it (play behind closed doors).

‘There is a bigger picture here, there would be good reason if it was behind closed doors.

‘So accept it (if that’s the case) and do everything you can to win the game.’
