Pompey defender Lee Brown could be out until the new year following the hamstring injury he picked up in Saturday’s win at Ipswich.

The 30-year-old came off in the 59th-minute at Portman Road to be replaced by on-loan Bristol City left-back Cam Pring.

Initially, manager Kenny Jackett estimated a one-to-two-week absence, following a similar injury at the start of November.

However, a two-to-three-week timeframe has been placed on his return, ruling the 29-year-old out of some important matches between now and the end of the year.

The Blues take on Fleetwood tomorrow night at Fratton Park, before travelling to league-leaders Hull on Friday evening.

Pompey then host Swindon on Boxing Day and then face a trip to Bristol on Tuesday, December 29, as their festive fixture take hold.

A trip to Accrington lies in wait on Saturday, January 2 – and that appears to be a game Brown can focus on as he plans his latest comeback.

The defender will have a scan today to assess the full damage of the injury.

Apart from Brown, the Blues have no other injury concerns ahead of the visit of Fleetwood.
