And Pompey left-back Steve Seddon has also been snubbed for the player accolade.

Both were shortlisted following the Blues’ resurgent form last month, with seven wins and one draw being yielded in all competitions.

But Pompey were in league action only four times in total – defeating AFC Wimbledon, Bolton and Lincoln, as well as being held to a 1-1 stalemate at Gillingham.

Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson beat Jackett, Rotherham chief Paul Warne and Doncaster’s Darren Moore to the prize.

And it was Peterborough striker Ivan Toney who claimed the player gong ahead of Seddon, Tom Anderson (Doncaster) and Chris Maguire (Sunderland).
