And that means a gruelling schedule is on the horizon as Kenny Jackett’s side compete on three fronts this term.

The Blues will now meet the Dons in their rescheduled game on Tuesday, February 25.

The match had originally been slated to take place in January, but was moved as a result of Pompey’s FA Cup progress.

Doncaster’s visit to Fratton Park has been earmarked to be played on Tuesday, March 3 (7.45pm kick-off).

That match will be moved to Tuesday, March 17 if a victory is picked up in the FA Cup fourth round tie with Barnsley on Saturday.

Pompey will now play eight games in February and a win over the Tykes would raise the prospect of at least seven fixtures in March, with a test of their squad strength likely in that time.
