Then skipper Tom Naylor deflected two goals into his own net to give the Brewers the lead against the run of play.

However, in the second half, Harness netted twice more to complete his hat-trick, while Jack Whatmough also netted to seal a 4-2 triumph.

And the 24-year-old is adamant he was never in any doubt the Blues would claim a maiden league victory of the season at a wet Pirelli Stadium.

He told The News: ‘We played really well and it was disappointing to concede two goals.

‘But we were always in the game and thankfully didn’t drop off, didn’t crumble under pressure, and showed what we could do by coming back.

‘At half-time the talk was how to just keep doing what you are doing.

‘We knew we were playing well. While it was disappointing with the goals, they weren't from a bad performance on our part. So we just carried on what we were doing and knew chances were going to come.

‘We kept Burton out in the second half and put away our opportunities like we knew we could.

‘Never did we think it wasn’t going to be our day. We were always in the game, we kept doing what we were doing.

‘And it worked out for our first win.’
