Dion Donohue is set to make his return from injury tomorrow.
The Pompey midfielder will feature for the reserves at AFC Bournemouth in the Central League Cup (1pm).
The Welsh talent picked up a hamstring setback in the Blues’ 2-2 draw against Burton on October 23.
Following a collision with team-mate Jack Whatmough, Donohue was forced to limp out in the 28th minute.
As a result, the former Chesterfield man has missed Kenny Jackett’s side’s past nine matches.
Donohue is nearing the first-team frame, though, and will play against the Cherries.
Jackett said: ‘Dion Donohue will be playing in the Central League Cup at Bournemouth.
‘It’ll be his first game back. It’s important for the likes of Donohue and Dave Wheeler to get back and stay fit.
‘Especially for Dion as he’s had a recurrence before.
‘He’ll be pretty much there after this game. We’ll be diligent and do everything we can, and we’ll support him as staff to make sure he can make the contribution he can on the pitch.’
Dave Wheeler (back and hamstring) remains absent for the League One clash against Charlton at Fratton Park tomorrow night.
