Michael Jacobs has become the Blues’ fourth recruit of the summer transfer window.

The former Wigan forward put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the club option for an additional 12 months.

There are high hopes Jacobs will be the answer to Pompey’s problem No10 position, with the versatile ex-Derby man earmarked to feature in the role.

Coaching staff gets a new face

Hope remains fans will return

There has been a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases recently, which has meant no more than gatherings of six people are permitted.

That’s meant there have been fears fans returning to elite sport next month may be delayed.

However, there’s been a key update which offers optimism

I feel like I’m still at a level where I can perform to a high standard, especially in this division and hopefully the one above.

The main aim is to get promoted, so I want to get fit and firing straight away. There’s a good quality of player here already, so I’m looking forward to coming in and adding to that.

Jacob’s better than League One level

It’s a signing that most Pompey fans have given the thumbs up to.

And Wigan Athletic reporter, Paul Kendrick, also believes Michael Jacobs can thrive at Fratton Park.

Jacobs has three League One promotions on his C.V already and knows how to get out of the division.
