The former England youth international has been without a club since being released by Coventry City at the end of last season.

He scored 17 goals in 61 games during his two-year spell with the Sky Blues and will add pace to Kenny Jackett’s forward options.

As things stand, John Marquis is currently Pompey’s only fit senior striker, with Ellis Harrison sidelined with a hamstring injury.
