Portsmouth transfer news: Double deadline day blow, Duo agree deals with EFL rivals

With hours left to go, will this transfer window hold one last twist for Portsmouth?

Kenny Jackett’s men have already done a fair amount of business this month, including making moves for full-back Charlie Daniels and Exeter City goalkeeper Lewis Ward.

But it looks as if Pompey have missed out on making one more signing.

Nnamdi Ofoborh was on the books at Bournemouth, but the situation surrounding his future has been a relatively complex one.

The 21-year-old is being lined up for a pre-contract agreement by Scottish Premiership leaders Rangers, but even if he does sign that deal, there has been a lingering chance that he may go out on loan for the remainder of the season to gain regular first team minutes before he makes a move to Ibrox in the summer.

Now, it has been confirmed that Ofoborh has signed a temporary deal with Wycombe Wanderers.

That will come as a blow to Portsmouth, who, alongside Sheffield Wednesday, Watford, Rotherham United, Lincoln City, and Charlton Athletic, had been credited with an interest in him, as per Football Insider.

Likewise, Pompey look to have missed out on reported target Zak Jules.

Again, Jackett’s side were touted as a potential destination for the centre-back by Football Insider, but that pursuit also appears to be dead in the water.

MK Dons look to be winning the race for the Walsall man, with a deal said to be wrapped up, scuppering any hopes of a late swoop from the south coast.

With the transfer deadline fast approaching, we’ve gathered the rest of this afternoon’s League One rumours below:
