Postponed Charlton v Portsmouth game rearranged for Tuesday night

Pompey and Charlton haven’t wasted any time in coming up with a date for their cancelled League One fixture.

The game at The Valley will now go-ahead on Tuesday night at 7pm after both clubs inspected their respective schedules.

Neither side were due to play a midweek game next week – so an agreement was quickly reached to try again in three days’ time.

Today’s match was cancelled an hour before kick-off following a pitch inspection, with the playing surface waterlogged.

Such a quick turnaround is achievable in the current climate as fans remain locked out of grounds because of the coronavirus.
