Kenny Jackett’s side booked their place in the third round thanks to an attacking display that saw six different goalscorers on the score sheet.

Ramus Nicolaisen, Tom Naylor, Sean Raggett, Marcus Harness, Ellis Harrison (penalty) and Jordy Hiwula all found the back of the King’s Lynn net.

And Pompey supporters on social media were delighted by what they saw from their boys in blue.

Here’s a selection of the views shared…

@TheChief657: Can only beat the team in front of you, professional performance, couple of banging goals & in the hat for the 3rd round. Good day all round.

@richraymond84: Good performance all round really, some cracking goals but shame about conceding one.

Did the job that was needed without picking up injuries.

@punxonthepitch: A very impressive and professional performance by #Pompey in the #FACup.

@James_Robbins28: Really professional performance from #Pompey.

Absolutely no doubt we are going to get a blinding away game against a Premier League team and it will be behind closed doors.

@FrattonFaithful: A very professional job with the goal conceded the only blemish.

Could have been double figures but there was never any chance of a shock result here.

Looking forward to pulling out Morecambe away in round 3.

@AtlGorillaTalk: A very good 6-1 thrashing of King’s Lynn in the 2nd round. Now focus on the league and let’s climb the table. #Pompey.

@johnhorneartist: Yipeeeee fantastic lads, winning into next round of FA Cup by 6 goals to 1, amazing result. You've done us fans do proud Pompey. Up the blues.

@Kayla_McTear: Beautiful game lads well done onwards to the 3rd round.

@MrRichAnthony: A great game, the best is six different players on the scoresheet for #Pompey despite five changes. On they march! Hopefully the win will carry momentum with them.
