Kenny Jackett makes five changes from Saturday's 1-0 defeat at promotion rivals Fleetwood, with Andy Cannon returning from a glute injury and Steve Seddon dropping to the bench for Lee Brown.

The biggest talking point of them all, however, is Brett Pitman’s inclusion on the substitutes’ bench for the first time in 13 games.

The former Bournemouth man has been training with AFC Bournemouth’s under-21s, after being frozen out by the Blues boss.

But with Ellis Harrison still sidelined with a dead leg, Pitman has been recalled from the cold.

Here’s how the Fratton faithful have responded to Pompey’s match-day squad on Twitter...

No Seddon? Feeling okay kenny? Not sure about Close over McGeehan either

@lukeclarke97

Pitman off the bench winner

@JSweetman92

Surely Friday would have been the game to rest Seddon. Can't argue with any other changes

@stevelarham_94

Start of 3 games in 6 days. Players looked tired on Saturday. Rotation is needed for these coming games

@wfisk90

Team badly needed freshening up. Shows depth of squad that we can make the changes that we have and not really look weaker for it.
