The winger, who is pencilled in for his 100th appearance for the Blues, today finds himself on the bench following three Kenny Jackett changes.

Instead, Ryan Williams is handed a recall for the Pirelli Stadium encounter, although it remains to be seen who will occupy the left flank between him, Marcus Harness and Michael Jacobs.

Ellis Harrison is given a deserved first start of the season, replacing John Marquis in the lone striker role, following last weekend’s goal-scoring entrance.

Meanwhile, Lee Brown comes in for Cam Pring at left-back following the 2-1 loss to Wigan.

All three dropped players – Curtis, Pring and Marquis – find themselves on the bench for this afternoon’s game.

There is also a return for Alex Bass following his ankle problem. He is among the seven-man bench in place of Duncan Turnbull.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Johnson, Whatmough, Raggett, Brown, Naylor, Morris, Harness, Williams, Jacobs, Harrison.

Subs: Bass, Close, Marquis, Curtis, Cannon, Nicolaisen, Pring.
