That’s after the Blues winger was called up to the latest Republic of Ireland squad for their matches against England (November 12), Wales (November 15) and Bulgaria (November 18).

The 24-year-old has been named in manager Stephen Kenny’s set-up for the triple header, after impressing as a second-half substitute in Eire’s 1-0 defeat to Finland last month following a late call-up.

Curtis has four international caps for his country and will be keen to nail down a regular place in the Ireland set-up after missing out on selection over the past year.

His latest call-up also comes days after he scored his second League One goal of the season at Lincoln on Tuesday night.

That followed a period out of Kenny Jackett’s side, with the manager preferring Michael Jacobs in the left-wing role.

However, an injury sustained by the former Wigan ace Michael Jacobs handed Curtis a return – a chance he’s taken with two goals in four games.

There was also hope that Blues team-mate Marcus Harness might join him in the Republic of Ireland ranks following his impressive start to the season.

However, the former Burton man – with seven goals already this term – has missed out on this occasion.

Pompey host the Hammers’ youngsters on Tuesday, November 10, in the EFL Trophy.

Their trip to Plymouth in League One follows on Monday, November 16.

It’s remains to be seen if Jacobs will be fit for either game, with the knee injury he sustained during the 3-1 win at Sunderland on October 24 expected to keep him out for between 4-6 weeks.

Meanwhile, the Pilgrims’ top scorer, Luke Jephcott (five goals) will also miss the televised game at Home Park after he earned a call-up to the Wales under-21 squad.
