Football is still battling to come up with the answers to decide the way forward amid the suspension to the season through the coronavirus pandemic.

But MacAnthony has made it clear in no uncertain terms those saying the season should not be seen out have their own agendas.

Speaking in his Hard Truth podcast, MacAnthony said: ‘There’s football club owners using this pandemic to push an agenda by saying don’t finish the season and don’t worry about the nine games.

‘My message to you is simple: s**** you. I don’t like what you’re doing, I don’t like your message, I don’t like your excuses and I don’t like what you’re hiding behind.

‘You’re bang out of order - and I mean massively bang out of order.

‘I’ve seen people saying why are we worrying about these nine games when we should worry about next season - the EFL should pay us to play these nine games and we’re going to play these nine games with kids.

‘Is that right? Is that a fact? Let me tell now, and this is the hard truth and the hard message for you, why don’t you grow a set of ***** and come out and say it for what it is.

Here’s the truth about you if you’re in that camp - you’re either getting relegated so you’re happy to do away with the nine games or you’re sitting in mid-table because you’ve achieved **** all and you’re not in a promotion or relegation race one way or the other.’

MacAnthony continued his rant by saying those who don’t want to see out the remaining fixtures this term, should refund the payments they’ve received as EFL members.

He added: ‘You’re in self-preservation mode, you’re happy to go against the game and screw off the season.

‘But here’s where the integrity kicks in for me.

‘You’ve been paid Sky money and Premier League solidarity money, you’ve been paid to play 45 games and you’re nine games short.

‘So here’s my recommendation, if you want to carry on with that agenda - give the money back.

‘Refund the EFL, refund the Premier League or forfeit your results.

‘If you don’t like it, that’s the hard truth. We have a season to finish - and we’re going to finish the season. The integrity of our league is important.’
