The defender is confident he can add to his return of set-piece finishes over the final nine games of the campaign.

Raggett got his first Fratton Park goal and his second effort of the season in last night’s 2-2 draw with Fleetwood.

The 26-year-old’s impressive looped header follows on from the Norwich loanee’s maiden effort in the 2-0 win at Tranmere last month.

It’s been a wait for Raggett to show his goal threat this season, but the defender has racked up seven goals before while with Lincoln in the 2016-17 campaign.

And the Norwich loanee sees absolutely no reason why he still can’t make an important goal contribution as Pompey aim to earn a place in the Championship this term.

Raggett said: ‘As soon I headed I thought it was going in.

‘You sometimes just know with those sort of ones they’re in. Thankfully that’s what happened.

‘It was good time to get one back for us and that’s two goals now.

‘I definitely feel like I’ve still got a couple more left in me this season so hopefully I can get them.’

Last night’s draw saw Pompey start slowly and fall behind, before turning the game on its head through Raggett’s 36th-minute header and Harry Souttar’s own goal three minutes after the restart.

Souttar then made a positive contribution to level at the right end and earn Joey Barton’s in-form side a draw.

The game was played in windy conditions and Raggett admitted the quality of Pompey’s performance didn’t reach the heights hoped for.

He added: ‘It was a bit of a strange game between two good teams, who were maybe not playing as well as they can.

‘It was just disappointing we couldn’t get the win.’
