He has since handed himself into police, with the club standing by him.

Jackett said: '˜Anton will be complying with the authorities, definitely, and has been in to see those people.

'˜He has a few problems and we are in the process now of sorting him out, giving him the guidance he'll need and making sure, from now on, we can put him on the straight and narrow.

'˜He has made one or two mistake in terms of driving offences and it's about helping him to straighten out and making sure we give him the guidance now going forward.

'˜We will be working hard to point him in the right direction.

'˜Anton has to report to the police and did that yesterday. If he didn't he would have been arrested.

'˜I hadn't really made my mind up about being involved against Walsall. He was definitely in the 19, but I think I would have had a third forward on the bench.

'˜He's made some mistakes and needs to get things back on track now.'
