Alan Devonshire's side ultimately suffered a 7-0 hammering, reflecting a fifth-consecutive loss.

Customarily, Pentney's offence collects a one-match ban, but the length of the punishment is not yet officially confirmed by the FA.

Should that be the case, he will be absent for the weekend clash at bottom club Dover '“ but able to face the Blues. Anything longer will rule him out of the FA Cup first-round fixture.

Maidenhead are already without Smith for the visit of Kenny Jackett's side, following his weekend red card against AFC Fylde.

The midfielder received his marching orders '“ and a three-game ban '“  in a 6-0 home defeat.

Maidenhead, who have won one of their last seven league fixtures, are currently two points ahead of the National League relegation zone.

Former Pompey striker Ryan Bird is in their ranks, appearing as a second-half substitute in Tuesday evening's Westleigh Park defeat.
