Chris Flood came off the bench to earn Gosport Borough a point in a 1-1 draw at National League South strugglers Weston-super-Mare.

Borough had looked to be leaving empty-handed when the hosts took the lead just after the hour mark. But substitute Flood scored with his first touch of the match after volleying home on 77 minutes.

A double from Alfie Whittingham ended Petersfield Town’s losing run as they earned three much-needed points in Southern League division one central thanks to a 2-1 success at Aylesbury.

The home side went ahead but Whittingham levelled before the break, and then slotted in a second-half penalty.
