It’s set to be the final match of 2016 for the Blues who are currently seventh in the table.

The match with QPR was postponed on Sunday so the team will be hoping for better luck to enable them to play this weekend.

Meanwhile, skipper Gemma Hillier has praised Samantha Quayle who recently completed her permanent move to Pompey from FA Super League side Yeovil.

Hillier has been impressed by what she has seen from Quayle during her loan spell on the south coast this season.

She said: ‘Sammy has brought a lot to the squad since signing on loan in September, including her incredible pace, bravery and ability to play in a number of positions.

‘And she has also notched quite a few goals, in a short amount of playing time.’

Sarah Kempson scored twice against Luton in the previous round of the FA Women’s Cup and Hillier outlined how influential she has been this season.

She said: ‘Kempo is a vital part of the team with her power and obvious scoring ability.’

It will be a tough task but Pompey Ladies could climb to fifth in the southern division if they beat Spurs on Sunday and other results go their way.

The Blues have a game in hand on fifth-placed Basildon, who lost 3-0 to Coventry last weekend, and are only one point behind them.

Crystal Palace are sixth in the table on 13 points, the same as Pompey.

After the festive break the Blues return to action on Sunday, January 8 at Charlton in the Women’s FA Cup.
