Regular football makes Ramsey happy to be at Royals

The experienced midfielder, who joined the Royals following a two-year spell at National league South Gosport Borough, has already made an instant impact.

The 26-year-old scored within a minute on his first appearance for the Royals in their 1-1 draw at Blackfield & Langley last weekend.

Ramsey is pleased to be getting an opportunity of regular football after finding himself on the fringes at Privett Park.

‘The first game was brilliant and I loved every minute of it,’ he said.

‘It was just what I needed because I have not really enjoyed my football for the last couple of years.

‘The only reason I stayed at Gosport so long was the terrific spirit and camaraderie amongst the players.

‘If it wasn’t for that, I would have left long ago.

‘This club is going up in the world and I am happy to be part of it.’

Moneyfields hope to pick up the pieces after their disappointing FA Vase exit by winning at Team Solent (3pm).

Manager Dave Carter wants to see his team start climbing the league and hinted he could be bringing in a couple of new players.

‘I still need a central defender and striker,’ said Carter.

‘Since I have been at the club in October, amazingly, we have only played four league games.

‘Now we have a run of them, we must look to pick up some momentum.

‘The Team Solent students will be full of energy and we will need to match them.’
