The trio left the Blues this week after the completion of their loan spell.

They all made a positive impact on and off the field during their month at the club.

Sadler, who is now stepping up from assistant to take charge as caretaker boss after the shock exit of manager Craig Taylor this week, was delighted with the way the Brighton players conducted themselves during their time at Pompey.

‘They are proper players professionals,’ said Sadler.

‘Their attitude was a big positive.

‘They hit the ground running and have been part of the Pompey family.

‘We cannot thank them enough.

‘It was fantastic for the young players to work with them and they all fitted in well with the senior players.

‘They worked well on and off the field.

‘With them going it is a loss. We will miss them.

‘However, we have brilliant players here who will get opportunities.

‘We have got the quality in the squad to push on and be successful.’

Despite the departures of Natkiel, right, Boswell and Fulgence, Sadler is in positive mood for the FA Premier League southern division match with Swindon at Privett Park today (2pm).

He was encouraged by what he saw from the team in the first half of the 4-2 league cup defeat at Charlton.

‘Hopefully we can get a good result against Swindon, he added.

‘In the first half against Charlton we were solid.

‘Then we made a few little errors in the second half and paid the price.

‘We’re disappointed we lost the game.

‘But we can’t be disheartened with the manner of the performance, we never gave up.

‘We know what Swindon are like.

‘It was a good battle with them at their place.

‘We need to stick to our game plan and focus on our own game.

‘If we can play towards the standard of the first half against Charlton we will give most teams a good game and that’s what we want.

‘We need consistency and we need to eradicate the mistakes.’

Pompey are seventh in the league with 10 points, four more than Swindon in ninth.
