The Rams are still searching for their first win in April, having drawn twice and lost three times in Southern League division one central this month.

Tonight they head up the A3 for their second derby clash with Godalming Town in six days. Last Wednesday the two sides shared a 1-1 draw at Love Lane.

The Rams will be heading north hoping to shake off the disappointment of Saturday’s 3-1 defeat on the road to Potters Bar Town.

Saunders, though, wants his troops to sign off for the season with six more league points from their two remaining matches.

He said: ‘Our form has tailed off somewhat since we moved into April.

‘It’s difficult to exactly pin-point why that is – some of it is probably down to fatigue from having played so many games in the last month or so and some of it could be we have relaxed a bit since we put the points on the board to make us safe.

‘Whatever it is, we need to put the last four or five games behind us now and give it one final push for the last two games of the season.

‘We owe that to ourselves and everyone involved at the club – especially the supporters who have come out in good numbers to all of our matches this season.

‘It would be really good if we could give them two more wins before we head into the close season and finish as high up the table as six more points would allow us.’

The Rams currently sit 13th in the table – the lowest position they can finish in this season.

They could still finish as high as 11th if they get maximum points from their remaining two games and results go for them elsewhere.

In the Ryman League, Bognor are at home to Brentwood Town.
