Sadlier was born in Haywards Heath and began his youth career at West Ham.

A move to Scottish side St Mirren followed '“ where he spent a year '“ before he joined Peterborough following a successful trial period.

The 24-year-old never made an appearance for Posh, spending time out on loan at Halifax Town during his spell there.

Then a switch to Ireland came about.

Sadlier joined Sligo Rovers in January 2016, making an impact with them, before making the move to Cork - where he has been since July last year.

The midfielder has been capped by Ireland at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level.

Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Sadlier said: 'I don't know what will happen now but I want to have my break and make a decision on what I'll do.'

During the summer, Pompey snapped up Ronan Curtis from League of Ireland side Derry City for a fee believed to be in access of £100,000.

The Blues also travelled to Cork back in July to take on the Rebels.

Kenny Jackett's side won that friendly 4-1, but Sadlier did not feature.
