Paul Cook’s side kicked off the new year with a resounding 3-0 League Two victory over Crawley, before winning past Ipswich Town at the second time of asking in the FA Cup.

A home loss to Oxford dented Pompey’s League Two promotion hopes, but the Cup loss to Premier League Bournemouth was anything but disappointing as the Blues drew many plaudits for running the Cherries so close.
