It means Gosport Borough and Moneyfields, who play at Premier South and South Division Southern League levels respectively, can now begin planning for a return to action.

Both clubs, along with all over non-elite teams across the country, have been unable to league matches or train since a second lockdown was put in place in England on November 5.

The Southern League has not followed suit with other step three and four authorities in their planned date of resumption.

Both the Isthmian and Northern Premier League announced they would be returning to action on Saturday, December 19 with seasons finishing at a later date of May 22.

But the Southern League is scheduled to restart a week earlier while sticking with May 8 as the final day of the season.
