Pompey definitely deserved to win against Bristol Rovers – we outmuscled them all over the park and that was the most important thing.

We went out and got in their faces straight away and didn’t let up for 90 minutes.

The intensity had been lacking against Leyton Orient and Oxford so that was more like it.

Unfortunately, in this division you have to kick your way out sometimes.

Yeovil is a game we have to win, and while they did play well against us down here in the 0-0 draw – that was probably the highlight of their season.

Automatic promotion is still on the cards for us – there’s 17 games left, including this one, and it only takes Oxford to have a slight dip in form and we can close the gap.

As for selection, I think we should start with the same team that beat Rovers and see how it goes.

Leave it until half-time and then we have Marc McNulty on the bench to come on if needs be, and his ability may nick us a goal.

Conor Chaplin is another one who can make a big impact.

This is a game I feel could suit either of those two as Yeovil are pretty ponderous in defence, hence why they are down the bottom.

In terms of the new man, Michael Smith has done okay since he has come in and has got his goal, which his confidence needed.

He is not really match fit so I don’t think we will see the best of him for another three or four games.

I don’t really do predictions at all – over the 40-odd years I have watched football I have learnt that you can’t predict anything in this game.

But seeing as I am being put on the spot, I will go for a 2-0 Pompey win.

I won’t be betting on it, though, I’ve had my heart broken too many times.
