Harry Ellis has been picked to represent England in the Canadian International Junior Challenge at Oslerbrook Golf & Country Club in Ontario next week.

The 17-year-old, who was crowned English amateur champion earlier this summer, has won the call-up to feature in the tournament which starts on Tuesday and climaxes on Thursday.

The Meon Valley talent will be part of a team of four for the competition.

He will be joined by Yorkshire ace Nick Marsh – a quarter finalist in the British Boys’ Championship.

While Cameron Massey, from Cheshire, and Bradley Moore, of Derbyshire, make up the quartet.

England have won the team event in each of the past four seasons, so the pressure is on for Ellis & Co to retain the crown.

Ellis became the youngest winner of the English amateur crown when he beat Henry Tomlinson last month.

It earned the former under-16 cap a successful debut in the Home Internationals at Glasgow Gailes.
