Fareham flying as talents start year on a high

The Fareham School of Gymnastics recreational competition showcased the club’s promising talents.

The event was strong at Fareham Academy as gymnasts, aged five to 16, demonstrated their skills .

They competed on vault, trampette and floor.

The gymnasts were placed in six teams of 12, with each side being of a mixed age group.

The Mayor’s Cup winners were the blue team, captained by Louise Pilley, and including Myxuan Swan, Alice Townsend, Lucy McFarlane, Kayleigh Walker, Daisy Green, Charlie Kitchener, Cerys Littlefield, Olivia Bicknell, Max Willis and Brandon Goodman.

The Val Johnson Cup winners were the yellow team, captained by Caitlin Walford.

Tillie Dyer, Isobel Bennell, Rio Bardouille, Casey Prescott, Abigail Pimm, Curtis Butler-Derrick, Lucy Coote, Pasha Bardouille, Jacob Willis and Emily Pennington all featured as the team delivered impressive displays.

It added to a fine start to 2015 for Fareham after secretary Barbara Dimmer picked up the lifetime achievement award at The News Sports Awards.
