Kelly Simm clinched a 19th-placed finish in the women’s all-round gymnastics final at the World Championships in Doha earlier today.
Whiteley-born Simm, 23, competed alongside British team-mate, Ellie Downie, who finished 11th in the event.
Kelly began her competition on beam but she couldn’t quite hold her balance after a twisting backflip and fell scoring 11.533 points.
Moving to the floor, Simm looked confident in her difficult tumbling, gaining a score of 12.466.
This was followed with a great vault, which was landed well, scoring her 13.900. Simm finished on the bars, successfully navigating her way, dismounting well for a score of 13.900.
Simm took to Twitter after her world exploits and said: ‘A fighting day today but 19th in the world. I can’t thank everyone enough for the support - family, personal coaches, national coaches, everyone at @BritGymnastics & so many more! I’m so grateful for these incredible opportunities & I can’t wait to work harder for more.’
