Portsmouth School of Gymnastics once again raised the bar ahead of the British TeamGym final in Gloucester in May.

Three squads from the Farlington-based outfit qualified for the Southern Regional Finals.

The senior team (over-15s) are on a mission to claim European Championship success in October, in Denmark, after winning gold in the southerns at the Bracknell Sports Centre.

They are highly-fancied to go on and win the British TeamGym final and claim the prize of representing GB at the Euros.

The squad is made up of Hema Gaur-Sharma, Rochelle Oxely, Sheree Barnett, Lauren Ayling, Sasha Dennett, Lauren Smith, Yumi Stow, Fanella Mousley, Frances White and Georgie Scotney.

They have mostly trained and competed together from the primary age-group upwards.

And after narrowly missing out on a medal in Malmo at the 2010 Euros, they have all the motivation they need.

The under-12s, known as the primary team, excelled in their first-ever competition.

They were delighted to book their spot in the national finals.

Lauren Romo coached the squad of eight girls, which included Ellie Pacey, Faith Winning, Ruby Weston, Rebecca Hawdon, Rosie Warren, Kaitlyn Seebohn, Isabella Grant and Molly Meacham.

Portsmouth School of Gymnastics also won three gold medals at the Regional Micro event.

The junior team (under-15s) came third in their age group, as they mixed it with some classy opposition to book their place in the finals.

The squad of Bobbie Webb, Amy Brown, Sophie Brown, Anna Richardson, Emma Larner, Bethany Macdonald, Keira Wellesley-Davey, Maddie Kimber, Kim Hughes, Jessica Allibon and Meghan Scott will be training extra hard in the coming weeks, ahead of the British finals as they also eye a Euro spot.
