Havant have a score to settle with Maidstone

The hosts are looking to turn the tables on the visitors after suffering a heavy defeat in Kent earlier this season.

Will Knight feels his squad have improved since then and regards the game as a good marker for progress made.

He said: ‘We were well beaten by them in the first game.

‘Obviously, we will be looking to make up for that result.

‘I am hoping we can continue with our decent run of form over the last six weeks.’

Knight is hoping Havant can return to winning ways, with most of their key players back in the side.

They lost to Sidcup but he feels they will show that defeat was not a true reflection on their quality.

He added: ‘We won four games on the trot before losing at Sidcup with a much-changed side.

‘Even then we were very competitive but we are hoping to be back to somewhere near full strength for this game.’

At Sidcup the visitors were without the whole of their first-choice back-row of Steve Cruddas, Gav Hart and Joe Davis.

Knight hopes to have at least a couple of them back.

In the three-quarters, Ben Brierley and Scott Morris are set to return.

In London three south west, United Services Portsmouth entertain third-placed Teddington at Burnaby Road (3pm).

Services still need points to ensure they do not make a speedy return back to Hampshire one.

‘One win from our final three games could be enough to keep us up but two will definitely do it,’ said director of rugby Matt Davis.

‘This is the level we feel we should be playing at but have used far too many players to be consistent.

‘I am confident we can do what we need to stay up but time will tell.

‘We want to do it by winning our games and not relying on others.

‘At Teddington we got destroyed in the first half so we know this won’t be an easy game.’

Services are without Sam Porter and Liam Geoghegan who are away and their powerful play will be missed.

On the plus, side the home outfit welcome back number eight Mayo Olinwula to the forwards.

They are also boosted in the three quarters by the return of Tom Blewitt.

In Hampshire two, Southsea Nomads make the long journey to Kingsclere.
