England continued their proud record as Portsmouth hosted the latest mixed hockey internationals.

Gosport’s Rob Forrest, 19, played in the opening match for England Lions (England’s reserve side) and set up one of the goals as they beat the RAF 4-1 on Saturday.

Then the senior England side, who have not lost a match since 2007, recorded an impressive 4-2 win over Wales.

Duncan Parnis proved the hero as he hit all four goals.

On Sunday, England repeated their 4-2 win over Wales in the second test.

Parnis added two more goals, with David Smith and Josh Harris also on the mark.

Wales hit back to beat the RAF 6-5 in the final match of the weekend at HMS Temeraire, Burnaby Road.

England manager Alison Austin was delighted.

She said: ‘It was fantastic. We had great weather and quality matches.

‘The facilities are superb at HMS Temeraire.’
