Things didn’t go to plan for Fareham as they suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Olton & West Warwicks in the National League men’s conference west.

Chris Davey netted the opening goal to put the home side on their way to what seemed like a positive result.

He scored after just three minutes of the contest.

But it unfortunately didn’t set Fareham up to take the points.

After just 17 minutes Peter Jackson fired the visitors level.

Then on 44 minutes they got a second goal with Tom Brammer on target.

The third goal in the 57th minute saw Olton wrap up their victory with Jackson netting his second.

Fareham are second from bottom in the table with four points.

Olton are up in third position and going well.

The next match for Fareham is away to Chichester with a 1pm kick-off on Sunday.

It will be an important game with Fareham currently two points below Chichester in the table.

Fareham Ladies had an excellent 5-1 win at Horsham seconds in South Clubs’ Women’s League division three B.

They are now up to third position in the table with 14 points, four adrift of second place and five behind Eastbourne who are top.
