Fareham’s excellent form continued in South Clubs’ Women’s League division 3B after they beat Richmond 4-2.
Vicky Field netted Fareham’s opener after a rebound from a penalty corner.
Richmond came back into the game but were unable to break down the home defence and the score remained 1-0 until half-time.
Early in the second half Fareham were awarded another penalty corner and took full advantage, with Emily Masson scoring from the top of the D to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.
And things got even better when a great run down the base line found Tracey Henderson on hand to make it 3-0.
However, midway through the half, Richmond got themselves back into the game with two unanswered goals.
Hannah Nicholls made sure of the three points, though, by taking the ball around the defender and hitting it on the reverse to make it 4-2.
Fareham are now fourth in the table with one more match to go before the mid-season break.
Elsewhere, Fareham twos drew 2-2 with Andover in Hampshire division two.
The thirds are top of Hampshire division five thanks to a 13-0 thrashing of Yateley fourths.
Sue Tinson scored five goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Megan Thomas (2), Kate Laws (2), Cath West (2), Debbie Stevens and Louisa Palmer.
