Ivan Boswell got the next goal, flicking high into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

Then Luke Parsons found himself unmarked on the back post and capitalised on his chance to make it 3-0.

Stu Avery was close to a third only to be denied a goal by the umpire.

Hayward then wrapped up the scoring with his second goal.

He netted a well-struck penalty corner which was too much for the Romsey keeper to deal with.

It was a weekend of mixed results with some difficult weather conditions overall.

City's men's second team were beaten 3-0 by Fareham fourth team at home.

The visitors were really strong and played well.

City had good periods of possession but they were unable to capitalise on the chances they created.

Fareham were clinical with short corners and City were unable to respond.

Despite a strong effort from City they were unable to net.
