Hughes is a knockout for Lord Chichester B

That's after he beat Lee O'Donovan, of Jolly Taxpayer C, in the final.

Hughes won the first leg of the head-to-head but O'Donovan hit straight back by taking the next two ties to go 2-1 up.

However, it was one-way traffic from there on, with Hughes rattling off three legs on the trot, including 17 and 18-dart legs and a 180 to take the title.

He had previously taken out a 153 finish as he beat Dan Eade 3-2 in an exciting semi-final, despite recording a 17-darter.

Meanwhile, O'Donovan enjoyed a 3-1 triumph over Charlie Hymers in their last-four meeting.

In the quarter-finals, Hughes beat team-mate Kevin Gilchrist, and O'Donovan dispatched Dion Jukes.

Hymers overcame Danny Harmer and Eade fired in a 13-dart leg and 117 and 102 finishes to triumph against Danny Smith.

Hughes also notched a big finish in the last 16, checking-out on 153 to deny Vince Aston, who recorded two maximums and a 13-darter in the game.

Mike Symes was the biggest scorer in division one as he fired in 89 ton-plus scores and three

maximums for champions Admiral Drake B.

Following in second place was Rose in June B's Fon Owen with 86 three-figure scores and four 180s, while Drake's Danny Smith was third with 84 and six 180s.

Drake may have won the league but they were outscored by Jolly Taxpayer C, who had 557 tons and 16 maximums, with the champions only mustering 529 and 23 180s.

There was a tie for top scorer in division two as Artillery Arms' Darrell Manchip and Jon Davison, of King Street Tavern, both notched 40 tons with one 180.

Their nearest rival was Druids Arms A's Neil Hallett, who registered 37 ton-pluses and a maximum.

Artillery were the tier's top-scoring team with 231 three-figure scores and five maximums, with Druids just behind them on 226 '“ three of which were 180s.

Graham Arms had the top two scorers in division three but were only the second-biggest scoring

team.

Martin Simmons and Rob Knowles hit 25 and 21 tons respectively, with Knowles registering a 180.

They contributed to Graham's total of 109 ton-pluses and three maximums but it fell short of

Rutland Arms' tally of 128 and a 180.

The 180 came from Steve Houghton, who took third place in the individual stakes with 20 three-

figure scores.

John Richmond was division four's top scorer, hitting 24 tons for Thatchers to beat Oyster House A's Bob Osborne into second place with 21 ton-pluses and a maximum.

Third-place went to Mark Cunningham of Newcome Arms B.

Stag A won the team scoring honours with 102 three-figure scores, narrowly beating Oyster House A and Lawrence Arms who had 100 each.

Newcome claimed second-place thanks to hitting two 180s.
