It’s a big boost with the aim to improve on last season’s sixth position.

He was the 2015-16 player of the season and is looking forward to returning to action.

‘It feels great, I really enjoyed last season,’ said Wild.

‘It’s a fantastic club to play for and therefore the obvious choice for me.’

Christian Cole has also returned, and he will continue to wear the number one jersey for the Devils as first choice netminder.

Cole has big ambitions for the season ahead.

He said: ‘My own goals for every season are set very high as I want to achieve more and more, but my main goal for this season is a team goal which is to be within the top half of the table.’

Forward Alex Trendall remains part of the team and has experience from playing in the USA, while fellow attacker Sam Rudkin will once again be available for selection after his sabbatical there.

Devils fans will also be seeing Kyle Goddard, Ollie Denis and Ben Lock for at least another year.

In terms of arrivals from elsewhere, forward Mark Pitts has signed from Basingstoke Buffalo.

He is hoping to help the team take their performances up another level in the bid to reach the top five.

He said: ‘I’m pleased and excited to be signing with the Devils for the upcoming season and look forward to the challenges the league brings.

‘The Devils are always looking to push on and improve, they have been doing so year on year.

‘By signing up I hope I can play my part in helping the club strengthen and achieve better things in the future.’

Defenceman Luke Tull arrives from London Racers and in the process comes back to the club where he started his career as a junior.

Ex-Wightlink Raiders winger Matt Lawday completes the list of new signings so far.
