Lloyd had recently returned from the European under-18 Championship in Nicosia, Cyrus. There, he won two of his three group-stage matches but he threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Romania’s Sebastian Musat in the last 64.

English under-14s championship finalist, Olly Gibbs, from Gosport, was beaten 2-0 by Mickey Joyce in the quarter-finals in Swindon.

Havant’s Jamie Wilson missed out on qualification on frames difference.

Brett Wallace lost out in a three-way play-off in his Silver group.
