After opening up with a win at Brighton, Knight’s team have lost their past two away games.

Despite the defeats at Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells, the coach felt his team could have won the games.

And they will be encouraged by the way they have been playing at home.

‘In our past two away games we were disappointed afterwards we didn’t win,’ said Knight.

‘They were both good teams but possessed nothing that suggested we couldn’t win against them.

‘We have been terrific at home and must look to replicate the same ruthlessness in our away games.

‘It is a question of us being lethal when opportunities present themselves.

‘Our players thrive playing in front of the large vocal crowd at Hooks Lane.

‘We don’t get the same atmosphere very often at other grounds.

‘Gravesend is a similar place and we must look to exploit that.

‘It is about us going into the game with the right mindset and being able to adapt to a different scenario.’

The visitors give a debut in the pack to 19-year-old Matt Whitehead.

His father played for the club in the 1980s and his uncle Rob Whitehead was the first-team hooker when the club were in their heyday in the early 1990s.

‘It is great to see another Whitehead playing in the senior team,’ said Knight.

‘He has come through our academy and was a member of the team who reached the national colts final last season.

‘The lad has been playing well in the second team and deserves his chance.

‘He is tenacious, physically strong and aggressive with it.

‘We are looking forward to seeing him play.’

Scrum-half Jake Hewitt comes in for the unavailable Wayne Johns.

Jake Reynolds will be moving to the replacements.

The backs have been in destructive form for Havant.

Knight added: ‘It is great to have consistency in the backs.

‘We have scored 150 points in our last two games and we want to keep that going.’
