Market take off layers in name of charityÂ

As the Gosport and Fareham Netball Association heads into the winter season, one of the teams in the league has been taking their layers off in the name of charity.

Market House Misfits have released their own 2019 calendar, with proceedings going towards various cancer charities. 

The team have been working with Perrio Photography and had support from sponsors JRC & Lewington Decorators.

Captain Carrie Titcombe revealed two of her players have beaten cancer and the team wanted to give something back. 

She said: '˜We decided, as a team, to do something different and raise money for a number of cancer charities as it is a cause very close to our hearts.

'˜Two of my players have both had and then beaten cancer.

'˜Angela was diagnosed with thyroid cancer a few years ago and Lianne with cervical cancer. 

'˜We are so excited with this and hope that people will support us and buy a calendar for someone at Christmas.

'˜One hundred per cent of the profits split with various charities of different specific cancers.

Meanwhile, Market House Misfits, who play in Gosport and Fareham Netball Association division three, fell to a two-goal defeat to Dimon Agents.

Leaders Ball Stars increased their lead at the summit of the table with a 30-24 success over Nats.

Gosport Gators Black beat their sister team Gosport Gators Gold 29-24 in a low-scoring game.

In division four, Four Bounties drew 30-30 with US Sulturians.

US Harriers fared better with a 42-24 win over Gosport Gators Yellow.

Mayhem made it two victories from two after beating Fareham Hornets 42-36.

Inovolt grabbed a success against division two leaders Absolute All-Sorts 37-30.

Jokers didn't kid around and delivered a 53-40 win over Pink.

Hotshots romped to a 46-32 win against Trojans.

Division One leaders Shooting Stars Blue smashed MDDM Rubies 87-18, while their sister team, Shooting Stars White, cruised past AMG Wallabies 68-30.

Demons were awarded maxiumm points for their walkover against Antonio's.

Following the league's AGM earlier this month, Lesley Burton is the new Gosport and Fareham Netball Association chairwoman, taking over from Andrea Davis

Emily Shemmell returned after a couple of seasons away as vice chair.
