New team have perfect mix... Cameron is pivotal player

The team are comfortably at the top of the All About Netball League, at Cams Hill School, in Fareham.

They beat Estee Elites 14-12 in a close match with both teams fighting all the way to the end.

It was a battle in mid court for the players’ player with both centres Nicky Thomas, of Mixers, and Jo Edwards, of Elites, getting the vote.

Portsmouth Pivotals had an excellent result, beating Solent Shooters 30-11.

Great defensive work by Vicky Sayers was not enough for Shooters.

Pivotals were too strong with some excellent play by the influential Hollie Cameron in mid court.

Cams Cyclones also finding their feet now beating sister team Cams Clutter 23-2.

Sarah Morris was the player to shine in this match having made so many improvements since taking up this game for the first time since school only last year.

Morris also said: ‘Cylones even came fourth in a tournament this weekend as well.’

Skittles also in their first season with AAN are comfortable in second position in the table and beat Delme Diamonds 13-8, with some accurate shooting by Anita Parham.

In Division Three Sue Deadman was the Shooter that led Allsorts to victory beating Fareham Flyers 17 – 10. Linzi Clements was working hard in the other shooting circle for Flyers but the ball just wasn’t getting to her enough.

Cams Confusion gave it their all in the last quarter to close the gap but Avengers were too far ahead and stayed there to win 26-18.

Hannah Donnarummer and Claire Hudson both worked hard in centre.

The impressive Hudson managed to secure some unreachable-looking interceptions.

Vixens took a surprising loss to Lee Holdens school team Cams Squidgys 15-12.

Fareham Fireflies Lilac versus Oceans was a very close game.

The two teams were level at the end of the third quarter, but experience led Oceans to the win 24-19.

Charlotte Jenkins, for Lilac, was players’ player of the match.

Division one team Wildcats had a 20-0 walkover against Cams Hill School.

Swanmore lost to a strong team from Warriors 29-17 with Jenna Carpenter turning some centre passes around which converted to goal.

Westowen beat Cams Chaos 30-14.

And Netstars had a good win against Bounties 28-10.
