SHOOTING STARS beat Angels in an exciting top-of-the-table clash in week 13 of the Portsmouth Netball League.
It was Angels who started the match in pole position in the race to land the prem one title.
But Shooting Stars showed their quality with a powerful performance.
It was a fantastic, competitive match and Stars won it 35-33.
That meant they climbed above Angels to move top on goal difference with one game each remaining.
Wrong Direction are now only five points behind top spot as they saw off Blue Bells 61-24.
Shooting Stars second team found it hard going against Teamforce who romped home 64-32.
And Gems played Misfits in their penultimate game and came out winners 36-28.
In prem two, champions Falcons took no prisoners when they met Scorpios, winning 60-24.
And runners-up Westowen had a really good, close, well-contested game of netball against Cowplain Cruisers.
But Westowen came out top winning 44-39 and are set for promotion.
Bottom team Magics could not contain Trojans as the latter won 44-11 with a good team performance again.
And Taylor Cocks took on Skywatch but could not find a win.
Skywatch were strong enough to land a 50-26 success.
Next week’s prem two re-fixtures will decide who is relegated from the division.
Division one champions AMG beat Dolphins 48-23 to make it 13 wins from 13 games.
And Heaven Sent cruised past SOS 48-22 to go into second spot.
With Heaven Sent and Dolphins still to meet, it could all rest on the outcome of that match as to who goes up in second place.
Cartek took all the points beating Junction 41-30.
And Blueberries beat bottom-of-the table BM Scaffolding 57-19.
In week 14, the last games of the season, Stars firsts faced Gems who started with six, so they took full advantage until they had a full team and won 54-25, meaning they took the league title for their 12th time.
And Angels faced Teamforce in a close competitive game, but Angels stayed strong to win 45-39 as they finished in second place on goal difference.
In division one Blueberries did enough to stay safe against Junction winning 35-30.
And AMG claimed another win to remain unbeaten.
They look well on course to win promotion after narrowly beating Cartek 27-26.
In another very close battle, SOS had their usual friendly game against BMS, narrowly winning 26-24.
