Shooting Stars delivered an impressive victory in the All About Netball Versatility Tournament.

They came through the first of two pools which included Victor Stewart Accountants, Cams Chaos, Knowle Hotshots, Misfits and 7 Up.

Sarah-Louise Kerley managed to defend well for Stars despite having an injured shoulder, while Nicola Ford hardly missed a shot.

Manager Jane Jewell started her rotation in centre, not her favourite position.

Victor Stewart, led by Fireflies coach Lindsey Allison had an overall third place which put them through to the plate play-offs.

Meanwhile, 7 Up from Southampton finished a good second place in their pool.

Portsmouth junior team Jellies, who took part even though coach Julie Osbourne was unable to attend, progressed from pool two, along with winners Drew Peacocks.

Captain Clair Buckland put the winning team together and they delivered in style as injured player Rachel Teal coached them to victory.

Wildcats Medley and Springers progressed in the plate competition.

The play-offs of the plate started with Victor Stewart versus Springers.

Allison’s team led from the start but Springers didn’t give up and only at the final whistle did VSA go through to the final.

On court one, Knowle were beaten by Wildcats in a close contest.

That meant the final was between VSA and Wildcats.

The ladies from VSA led early on and went on to secure an impressive victory.

Meanwhile, the cup final was between Shooting Stars and Peacocks.

Stars drew ahead by two goals when they turned over a centre in the second half.

Peacocks fought hard but couldn’t catch them and Shooting Stars were able to celebrate an impressive success.
