Stroll Sisters enjoy walking netball festival success

Suspects are on a roll – and two original members are playing a key role.

The team were formed in 1992 after an evening class at Hayling College.

And two founder-members, Sue Dudman and Michelle Golden, are now enjoying the fruits of their labour.

A rapid rise has seen the team earn two-successive promotions to climb to division two.

They were originally called Hayling Netball and started in division six, before becoming Time Travel and playing in the higher divisions.

And now, in the guise of Suspects, they are back where they belong.

Captain Golden said 'We are back in division two after gaining promotion for the last two successive seasons.

'We have been up and down over the years, mainly due to pregnancies and injuries causing disruption.'

Emily Loftus is vice-captain and has played for Suspects since she was 15, while goal shooter Nicky Harris won most sportsmanlike player for the division three Summer league this year, making her team-mates very proud.

Dudman is the team's treasurer and also has the vital role ofsocial secretary, with team nights out crucial to the recent success.

Golden added: 'We have a teacher, accountant, police officer, dental nurse, practice nurse, students and a sports development officer, all of which can be stressful jobs so netball is a great release.

'And, it is great for making new friends.'

Suspects are sixth in division two and looking to impress further in 2011.
