Have your say

Youngstars Yellow are refusing to rest on their laurels.

The Gosport & Fareham League side have enjoyed a remarkable start to life in the competition.

They won promotion in their maiden campaign – finishing top of division six with a maximum points haul and goal difference of 304.

And now the talents are heading for another title as they lead division five and close in on a jump into the fourth flight.

Jennifer Rynn is delighted with the way her side have gelled.

‘Last season was amazing,’ said the captain.

‘All the girls improved individually, as well as bonding with each other.

‘Everyone is so nice to each other and they all have smiles on their faces when they are playing, which is fantastic.

‘We knew this season would not be as easy but we have taken each game as it comes.

‘Everyone has given their all in every game and it has shown in the results.’

Youngstars Yellow won seven games on the bounce this term.

They stretched their undefeated run to 21 games – a stunning achievement for any team.

But then disaster struck as they were hit with three losses on the bounce.

‘We did really well to stay unbeaten for so long,’ said Rynn.

‘It was no surprise that we would lose at some point.

‘We lost three games in a row this season and we knew we had to work hard to get back to winning ways.

‘And we did that against Bishop’s Waltham Wildcats Orange last week.’

Youngstars Yellow are founded on a family theme – with plenty of parental support.

‘We are a family team made up of two pairs of sisters, a cousin and a mother and daughter,’ added Rynn.

‘We wanted to play together, so we created a team.

‘I couldn’t ask for a better team, family and friends.

‘All of our parents stand on the side line together, cheering us on which is great and really gives us a boost.’

Yellow are not the only Youngstars team eyeing promotion.

The club’s Blue team are currently top of division three – after remaining unbeaten in division four last term.

Youngstars Red are also in second place in division two, facing the prospect of a first jump to division one where White are currently fifth.

Yellow’s next game is against NATS Globetrotters tonight (8.30pm).
