Nicky Thomas impresses with new Queen Elizabeth parkrun best

The Portsmouth Joggers club member achieved a new course personal best of 23min 24sec and she was 12th overall.

Alison Smith, of Hillingdon Triathletes, was second lady with 24.22.

Ian Gregory had a smashing run to get his course best of 24.54.

He finished in 18th place overall with 81 people finishing the undulating 5k course.

Tessa Briggs completed her 50th parkrun.

Meanwhile, Andrew Meredith finished in first place at Havant parkrun with a time of 18.37.

Junior runner Harriet Burr was the first female finisher (22.16).

Tony Hoskinson continued his excellent run of form with a new personal best of 25.22 and he was delighted with the morning run.

He said: '˜It was an absolute classic morning at Staunton '“ a big thanks to run director Bridget Main and all the volunteers.'

In total 227 people completed the 5k at Staunton Country Park.

Shannen Betts joined the 50 milestone club.

At Chichester parkrun Alice Wright finished first lady and she got a new personal best time of 19.11.

Second was Sarah Loy in 20.50 with first-timer Nicole Airey third in 21.07.

The 213th event was completed by 194 people at Oaklands Park.

James Baker led the way around the course as he finished in 16.40.

John Welch joined the 50 milestone club.

In 2004 parkrun first started when 13 runners and five volunteers gathered in London's Bushy Park for a free timed 5k run. 

Now 14 years later more than 3.2 million people have had their barcodes scanned.
