Burridge recovered from a horrendous start to end their Southern Premier League East group season with victory over Alton - Sullivan White and Ben Stancliffe impressing with bat and ball.

The hosts elected to bat first but were soon 3-3 and 13-4.

Opener Joe Collings-Wells and No 3 Chris Blake were both out first ball - Dan Scott taking both wickets - while Jack Paskins (3) and skipper Hilio De Abreu (8) were both clean bowled by Tom South.

Azimunnoor Chowdhury started the recovery by top scoring with 41, Dan Damley-Jones (28) helping him add 43 for the sixth wicket.

Burridge were still deep in trouble on 117-7 before tailenders Stancliffe (16), Mo Abbas (20) and No 10 White (28) boosted the total to 175 all out in the Premier/Division 1 fixture.

In reply, Alton’s top order crumbled almost as easily as Burridge’s had done.

Opening bowlers White and Stancliffe did the damage as Alton crashed to 29-5.

White (3-16) accounted for Tom South (10), Michael Heffernan (0) and Fred Egleston (0) and Stancliffe (2-20) dismissed skipper Dan Harris (5) and Jude Wright (0).

Scott Myers top scored with 37 but wides (14) were the next highest as Alton were bundled out for 97 to lose by 78 runs.
